Things are about to get spicy with the new sambal mayo menu at Shake Shack!
Shake Shack fans out there, this one’s for you! Get ready to sink your teeth into Shake Shack’s first ever Singapore-inspired menu. The new Sambal Mayo menu includes items such as Sambal Mayo Burger, Sambal Mayo Chicken Shack and Sambal Mayo Fries.
The robust and spicy Sambal sauce is from Batu Lesung Spice Company and was created by local renowned Chef Jeremy Nguee exclusively for Shake Shack.
The Sambal Mayo Burger ($12.50 up) features a classic Angus beef patty topped with the exclusive Sambal Mayo and classic Nasi Lemak ingredients like fresh cucumbers, fried egg, and topped with crispy fried ShackMeister onions. The combination of ingredients give the burger a distinctive Singaporean flavour.
For those looking for a stronger kick, the Sambal Mayo Chicken Shack ($12.50 up) sees crispy dark meat chicken layered with fresh cabbage slaw and crunchy cucumber slices then finished with the same flavourful Sambal Mayo on a toasted potato bun. The slaw was zesty and added a refreshing twist to the Sambal Mayo, cutting through the grease.
Heads up! This contains cilantro which drew mixed reviews from the ZYRUP team – some thought it added a unique touch while others were simply not fans of the vegetable. Nonetheless, the juicy chicken burger was the unanimous clear winner and definitely one of the best chicken burgers we tasted in a while. The chicken was battered lightly but had the right amount of crisp and tasted like it was prepared by your favourite Makcik.
The Sambal Mayo Fries ($7.90) comes with Batu Lesung Spice Sambal Mayo, garnished with savoury bacon bits and scallions – perfect for sharing. Since the fries are already $7.90, we highly recommend to top up just an additional $1.70 for more saucy goodness!
Shake Shack’s Limited Time Sambal Mayo Menu will be available at all eight Shake Shack outlets across Singapore from June 1 to August 15.
