Hailing from Canada, Valley were formed in an unprecedented manner when a local studio accidentally double-booked Mickey and Karah, and Rob and Alex for the same time slot. Fortunately, this mistake turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Coming together as Valley, they then introduced themselves to the world with their self-composed and self-produced music, releasing their EP The Room Is White (2016), to their most recent album Last Birthday (2021), to their latest single ‘Break For You’ (2023). Fans can rejoice as their upcoming sophomore album will be released in less than a month’s time on June 23.

Amplifying sticky hooks through eloquent songcraft that’s cognizant of what came before, yet ready for the future, Valley’s songs have resonated with a global audience through all their songs. They have also earned praise from prominent publications such as EARMILK, Wonderland, American Songwriter and CBC.

If you’re still wondering why Valley sounds familiar but can’t put a finger to it, maybe these lyrics will help:

If you wanna come over, watch Friends and then get high
Use my phone as a coaster, we’ll travel back in time
Lights on the ceiling, we’re more than a feeling
If you wanna come over, act like it’s 1999

Does that ring a bell now? With relatable and sometimes heartwrenching lyrics, it is no wonder that Valley’s gold-certified single, ‘Like 1999’, became a TikTok trending song, and garnered more than 70 million streams worldwide on Spotify. Talk about talent. For all the millennials and zillennials out there who are feeling nostalgic about the 1990s, this is no doubt the perfect song to jam out to.

Outside of the studio, Valley is also known for their energetic live shows. Not only have they opened for Lennon Stella, and rock bands The Band CAMINO and Arkells, they have also performed at renowned music festivals across the globe, including The Governors Ball (USA), Slow Life, Slow Live Festival (South Korea), Wonderstruck (USA), and Life is Beautiful (USA).

Valley also proved to themselves that their efforts over the years were not for naught, achieving tremendous success and global reach last year. Performing their almost sold out first-ever North American headlining tour, recording their first Spotify Singles Session, and being profiled as part of Apple Music’s Up Next Artist alongside the release of their Apple Music Home Session all in 2022, one can definitely expect them to scale new heights in the music industry in time to come.
